Canada Day - July 1, 2026

Canada Day 2026 at Richmond Green: An Evening of Community, Celebration, and Fireworks

As Canada Day approaches, families and friends across Richmond Hill, Markham, Vaughan, and nearby communities are getting ready to celebrate our nation's birthday together.

This year, one of the biggest local celebrations will take place at Richmond Green Park on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

The festivities begin at 2:00 PM and continue until 11:00 PM, with the much-anticipated fireworks display lighting up the night sky from 10:00 PM to 10:20 PM.

For many of us, Canada Day is more than just a holiday. It is a chance to gather with family, meet neighbors, enjoy the summer weather, and appreciate the country we call home.

Richmond Green has become a favorite destination for Canada Day celebrations over the years. Throughout the afternoon and evening, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, community exhibits, and plenty of opportunities to relax and soak in the festive atmosphere.

For seniors, it can be a pleasant outing to watch the crowds, enjoy the music, and share memories of past Canada Day celebrations. For families with children, it is an opportunity to create new memories together. Young children often find the fireworks magical, while adults appreciate the sense of community and belonging that the event brings.

If you plan to attend, consider arriving early. Parking can fill up quickly, and the best viewing spots for the fireworks are usually claimed well before sunset. Bringing lawn chairs, a picnic blanket, water, and a light jacket for the evening can make the experience even more enjoyable.

As darkness falls and thousands of people gather beneath the summer sky, the fireworks display will provide a spectacular finale to the day's celebrations. For twenty minutes, bursts of color and light will remind us of the diversity, resilience, and spirit that make Canada special.

Whether you are a long-time resident, a newcomer, or simply visiting the area, Richmond Green's Canada Day celebration offers a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate.

Happy Canada Day, everyone!
