香港特區政府保安局最近向立法會提交文件，欲在 2018 年底開始更換合共 880 萬最新智能身份證。

上一次更換身份證是在 2000 年代初，當時特區政府發佈了第一代智能身份證，最終為過關和圖書館借書帶來方便，但時移易勢，第二代智能身份證將會比第一代更新了更強大的晶片，並帶來更強大的功能，究竟今次更換身份證前你需要知道什麼？

與現有身份證有什麼不同？

新版智能身份證會配合特區區旗顏色，偏向粉紅色，原本在右方的黑白大頭相會改到左邊顯示，原本在左下角的黑白影像就以激光影像形式放到右下方顯示，由於樣貌會在左邊顯示，改良版晶片會放到背面，卡面和卡背會新增波浪及立體效果的偏綠特區區徽圖案，而在印刷上去的文字資料就與現有身份證大致一樣。

新版智能身份證晶片內藏有多個區塊，包括可以進行出入境的「入境事務分區」以及儲存身份證號碼、中英文姓名、出生日期及簽發日期「卡面資料分區」。

16th December, 2025 our group gathered at McConaghy Community Centre for a potluck party filled with warmth, laughter, and good food.
