55+ Event Updates for the Month of April, May and June

Please note the following events to be held at different Centres during the months of April, May and June.


1. Community Discussion Older Adults 55+
    Langstaff Community Centre April 22 (Tuesday) 1 pm, McConaghy Centre April 23 (Wednesday) 1 pm, Oakridges Community Centre April 24 (Thursday) 1 pm.
    These sessions are for the Town of Richmond Hill to gauge your opinions and to decide future programs additions or cancellations. Participants need to register at McConaghy Centre or call 905-737-1818.

2. Older Adult 8th Annual Health Fair
    Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts May 30 (Friday) 10 am 
- 2 pm.
    Tickets $5. Entertainment and pizza lunch included.

3. 55+ Barbecue
    Mill Pond Park June 6 (Friday) 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
    Free of charge.

4. 55+ Golden Games
    Miscellaneous locations from June 9 - June 13.
    Badminton, Snooker, Kitchen Bridge, Euchre, Pickleball, Table Tennis.
    Registration required.

5. 55+ Ice Cream Social
    Oak Ridges Communit
y Center - June 18 (Wednesday) 1 pm.
    Free of charge. Registration required at McConaghy Centrer or Oak Ridges Community Centre.

A Joyful Potluck Celebration at McConaghy Community Centre

  16th December, 2025 our group gathered at McConaghy Community Centre for a potluck party filled with warmth, laughter, and good food. The timing was perfect—the centre has just completed a renovation, and the changes are immediately noticeable and impressive. A Fresh, Welcoming Space The newly renovated entrance is wider and brighter , creating a welcoming first impression. Inside, the assembly hall now feels more open and spacious , making it an ideal venue for community gatherings. The improved layout allowed everyone to move around comfortably, mingle freely, and truly enjoy the event. A Table Full of Flavours We had about 60 participants , and everyone brought along a favourite dish—some lovingly home‑made , others thoughtfully picked up from local restaurants .
